UAE Corporate Tax Registration: What Every Business Must Know
The introduction of Corporate Tax marked one of the most significant shifts in the UAE's fiscal landscape. Effective for financial years starting on or after 1 June 2023, the law requires all UAE-incorporated entities to register with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA), regardless of whether they ultimately owe tax.
Who needs to register?
Every taxable person, including mainland companies, free zone entities, and certain individuals conducting business, must obtain a Corporate Tax registration number. Late registration carries penalties starting from AED 10,000.
Understanding the rates
- 0% on taxable income up to AED 375,000
- 9% on taxable income exceeding AED 375,000
- Qualifying Free Zone Persons may access a 0% rate on qualifying income, subject to conditions
